Recent polling conducted by Progress Michigan in partnership with Public Policy Polling shows that Michiganders overall are supportive of a universal, single-payer health care system.

In response to Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall’s announcement that a framework has been reached with the governor and Senate on a state budget, Justin Mendoza, executive director of Progress Michigan, issued the following statement:

Recent polling conducted by Progress Michigan in partnership with Public Policy Polling shows that 56 percent of Michiganders oppose the Michigan House Republicans’ budget proposal that would cut the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy’s (EGLE) budget by half, while 31 percent support this move.

With the introduction of House Bill 4024, Progress Michigan is calling out Michigan House Republicans for launching yet another attack on transgender youth while simultaneously trying to torpedo public education in Michigan with a bogus budget.

Matt Hall and Michigan Republicans do not care about our families, communities, or children in Michigan.
