NEW POLL: Federal Law Enforcement at Polls Concerning for More Than Half of Michiganders

MICHIGAN — Recent polling released by Progress Michigan in concert with Public Policy Polling shows that more than half of Michiganders are concerned about the possibility of federal law enforcement officers stopping eligible voters from casting their ballots. With Michigan’s midterm election just days away, Michiganders deserve to feel assured that federal authorities will not sabotage the election process.

“As election season kicks into full gear, Michigan voters need to feel confident in their right to vote in our free and fair elections,” said Justin Mendoza, executive director of Progress Michigan. “Regardless of where you vote, everyone should be able to trust that no one will interfere with election results on November 3. The Trump administration and election deniers continue to tout conspiracy theories to lead Michigan voters to believe the election process is already compromised. These theories have all been repeatedly debunked, especially given the fact that Michigan has some of the most secure and accessible voting systems in the country. However, if you are experiencing intimidation at the polls, please report the situation to (866) OUR-VOTE.”
