You might recall last year that when Governor Rick Snyder was asked about raising Michigan’s minimum wage — he said that it wasn’t a “burning issue.”

Our elected leaders in Michigan have said they will not act on behalf of hardworking Michiganders who deserve a raise. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of minimum wage workers across Michigan struggle every day to put food on the table and a roof over their family’s heads.

The facts show that raising the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour would help better the lives of hundreds of thousands of workers and our economy. Small business owners know it, working families know it, economists know it, and even President Barack Obama supports it. In fact, he’s visiting Ann Arbor today just to talk about how important it is to increase the minimum wage.

We’ll be there tweeting, posting, and giving you all the latest updates on the President’s visit. Our friends from Raise Michigan will be there to collect petition signatures. If you’ll be in the area we hope you’ll show your support and help raise Michigan’s minimum wage.
