Progress Michigan Statement on Biden UAW Picket Line Visit
LANSING — Following President Joe Biden’s visit to the Willow Run UAW picket line today, Progress Michigan Executive Director Sam Inglot released the following statement:
“We thank President Joe Biden for standing with the brave UAW workers on the picket line and continuing to stand in solidarity with striking workers fighting for the contract they deserve. President Biden has been crystal clear and in unison with UAW members since the outset of this strike: record profits should mean record contracts. It is clear President Biden stands on the right side of this issue against corporate greed and for economic justice for union workers.
“Tomorrow, Michigan will get a very different visit from a former president. Donald Trump is going to a non-union site and will try to whitewash his anti-worker, anti-union record.
“The Big Three are raking in profits and UAW members deserve a contract that gives them the pay and benefits they deserve.”
