Schuette Accepts Endorsement from Extreme, Controversial Florida AG
Pam Bondi has questionable ethics, just like Bill Schuette
MICHIGAN — Attorney General Bill Schuette has announced support from Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, which should trouble Michiganders considering Bondi’s record of standing on the side of discrimination, the NRA, and corporate special interests.
“Schuette and Bondi can sing each other’s praises as much as they like, but it’s not a tune that the people of Michigan enjoy hearing. Just like Bill Schuette, Pam Bondi is an extreme and corporate-backed attorney general who has prioritized her political career over what’s best for the people of her state,” Sam Inglot, deputy communications director at Progress Michigan. “The fact that Bondi is supporting Schuette isn’t surprising, but it should put the people of Michigan on edge. Like Bill Schuette, Bondi’s relationship to corporate donors is well-documented, and when elected officials have such cozy relationships with shady, for-profit interests, it doesn’t bode well for working families. At the same time, Bondi — again, just like Schuette — has used her power to discriminate against people.”
More information about Pam Bondi:
- Bondi fought against marriage equality in Florida, saying allowing LGBTQ couples to marry would cause “significant public harm.”
- Earning an “A” rating from the NRA, Bondi also tried to push for allowing teenagers to purchase handguns.
