It’s my third day on the job as Progress Michigan’s new Executive Director, and already I’m amazed at the threat presented to our state’s future by corporate-funded right-wing politicians. We need your help.
Every day, Progress Michigan fights back against the attacks on Michigan’s middle-class families. We have been on the front lines in the battle to expand Medicaid, against so-called “Right-to-Work”, and shining a light on the radical right-wing’s attacks on women’s health.
We use cutting-edge tactics to push back on undemocratic laws like the emergency manager law, that gave an unelected bureaucrat the power to force Detroit into bankruptcy so he could force cuts to health and pension benefits that were promised to hard-working retirees.
We spend our days pointing out hypocrisy in Lansing – like the fact that AG Schuette’s office will be both defending retiree pensions in Detroit while arguing for Gov. Snyder in the same court case.
