Every Michigander should be proud of GM’s dramatic turnaround.
But that doesn’t mean GM workers, drivers and shareholders should be underwriting GM’s membership to a controversial lobbying group like the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
It’s time for GM to do the right thing.
Big corporations like Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Kraft are fleeing ALEC in droves over its support for controversial “Stand Your Ground” gun laws and voter ID legislation.
We support GM and the hard-working men and women who are leading the company’s turnaround, but it’s time for GM to drop its ALEC membership and focus on what it does best – building great cars and trucks.
