Guide Spotlights Endorsements of Progressive Groups

LANSING – Citizens group Progress Michigan today unveiled its 2010 Michigan Voter Guide, an online guide for voters showcasing the endorsed candidates of Michigan’s progressive community.

“We are excited to release our 2010 Michigan Voter Guide — our first ever — in partnership with 13 progressive organizations who have made recommendations on candidates for statewide and legislative offices,” said David Holtz, Executive Director for Progress Michigan.  “This is a tool for voters who want to know which candidates best represent their values on issues like equality, the environment, choice, education, and workers rights. In future years we hope to expand this service to include candidate recommendations for county, township and municipal offices.”

Participating organizations include the American Federation of Teachers, America Votes, Clean Water Action, Equality Michigan, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, Council 25 AFSCME, MI Good Guys, Michgan State AFL-CIO, Michigan Education Association, SEIU, Sierra Club and UFCW Michigan.

The voter guide is online at http://mivoterguide.org/.
