We’re calling Bullshit on Trump’s Speech tonight
Donald Trump is slated to give an address tonight at 9pm EST where he will likely claim the results of the 2020 elections were false.
MICHIGAN — President Trump is planning to give a national, primetime address on Thursday night about election integrity and specifically the 2020 election. He claims to have a “big announcement” to share. This coming after just last week, President Trump removed the remaining members from the federal Election Assistance Commission (EAC). The bipartisan, independent committee is specifically tasked with establishing a national standard outlining the security and functionality of voting machines, among other things. We suspect that Trump will use this address to espouse long-debunked claims of election fraud from 2020 and more. In response, the following statement may be attributed to Justin Mendoza, executive director of Progress Michigan:
“I’m calling bullshit on Trump’s speech and ‘big announcement’ tonight. This is nothing new. Lest we forget, this administration saw that they could get away with sowing doubt in the 2020 elections while riling Trump’s base into a violent attempted insurrection. Since then, it’s been the same refrain of election fraud with no proof for years. This is merely the latest in a long line of attempts by the Trump Administration to undermine and interfere with voting across the country in order to influence the outcome of our elections.
“I encourage all Michiganders to look to non-partisan factual sources for election information, such as michiganvoting.org, so they can register to vote and see the latest updates while they cast their ballots in the August primary and November general elections.”
Tonight, Justin Mendoza will be moderating a town hall with Kalamazoo County Clerk Meredith Place and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel in Kalamazoo, MI to discuss barriers to the ballot and what voters need to know to cast their ballot this fall. A recording will be available after the event.
