Progress Michigan Announces New Legislator of the Month Award
Award will highlight positive work done by our elected officials
LANSING — Progress Michigan, a government watchdog group, announced today that it will give a Legislator of the Month award to an elected official who demonstrates a commitment to government that works for all Michiganders.
“The people of Michigan want elected officials who will work to build thriving, inclusive, and sustainable communities while building an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and the well-connected. We will continue to shine a light corruption and hold our elected officials accountable for poor decisions, but we think that it’s also important to lift up the good work that folks are doing in the legislature,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “This award will focus on legislators who are working to fix the issues the people of Michigan are discussing in their living rooms instead of those only being discussed in corporate board rooms.”
Progress Michigan will name the January Legislator of the Month on Monday, February 6th and each subsequent award will be announced on the first Monday of each month for the previous month.
