Progress Michigan Calls on Attorney General to Denounce White Nationalist Group, Brief Supporting Discrimination
Hate group, Traditionalist Youth Network, needs to condemned by Bill Schuette
MICHIGAN — Today, Progress Michigan called on Attorney General Bill Schuette to denounce the amicus curiae brief filed by the Traditional Youth Network, a known white nationalist group, in support of his attempt to discriminate against same-sex couples.
“A group like the TYN should be too extreme, even for the likes of Bill Schuette. So he should have no problem condemning the group’s beliefs and denouncing their support for his crusade against loving families,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “Racism, white nationalism and bigotry have no place in Michigan and should not be supported by our elected leaders. Even more than condemning this racist group, we’d like Bill Schuette to drop his vendetta against the LGBT community. Michigan deserves better.”
