Progress Michigan’s Sam Inglot Promoted to Deputy Director
Inglot has been with the progressive advocacy organization for nearly 6 years
LANSING — Progress Michigan is pleased to announce today that Sam Inglot has been promoted to be the organization’s deputy director.
“Sam was my first hire as the Executive Director of Progress Michigan, since then he has gone from a young former reporter to one of the most integral players in the progressive movement and Progress Michigan is lucky to have Sam’s talents on staff,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “Sam has had a hand in all of the organization’s success, including the recent ‘Shady Schuette’ campaign he spearheaded. Sam has excelled in every role he has held at the organization and I expect he will do the same with this one.”
Inglot started at Progress Michigan in August 2013 and has advanced over time from communications specialist to deputy communications director, a position he’s held for the last two years. He has been instrumental in the organization’s accountability efforts, assisting progressive partners across the state with communications needs, and maintaining relationships with the media throughout his time at Progress Michigan.
“I’m extremely humbled and excited about my future at Progress Michigan and the trust that’s being placed with me and this new position. I’m hopeful for the future of the organization, our partners, and Michigan as a whole. My work at Progress Michigan isn’t just a job, it’s part of who I am,” Inglot said. “During my time at Progress Michigan, I’ve held press conferences using maggots, chased elected officials with backpack billboards and video cameras, and dressed up in an assortment of costumes all in an effort to hold our elected officials accountable and try to make Michigan a better place for everyone. While some of our tactics are off-the-wall, I’m proud of my role in the growth we’ve achieved for our organization and the victories we’ve earned for the people of this state.”
