State Representative Vanessa Guerra Named Progress Michigan’s ‘Legislator of the Month’

Guerra honored for work to combat sexual assault, help loved ones serve as caregivers

LANSING — Progress Michigan has named State Representative Vanessa Guerra its Legislator of the Month for May. Guerra was chosen for her work on a resolution to combat sexual assault in the state and passage of her bill to help families serve as caregivers of loved onesout of committee.

“Representative Guerra has earned this distinction due to her hard work to combat sexual assault and her commitment to people caring for family members in need,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “Representative Guerra has tackled two big issues that will positively impact the residents of Michigan.  We applaud Representative Guerra for her hard work and commitment to the people of Michigan.”

The Legislator of the Month award is given to an elected official who demonstrates a commitment to a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
