Progress Michigan to Schuette: Learn from Mueller

LANSING — Progress Michigan released the following statement regarding the plea deal by former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn as part of the Trump/Russia probe. The statement should be attributed to Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan.

“Special counsel Bob Mueller has spent months working on an investigation and has already charged two high level officials and secured guilty pleas from two others including one of the highest ranking members of the Trump administration. In contrast, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette and his appointed special counsel have spent over a year and millions of taxpayer dollars investigating the Flint Water Crisis, yet haven’t convicted one person of significance in this crisis, haven’t charged any of Governor Snyder’s inner circle, and is now being accused of playing politics with the overall investigation by the Lieutenant Governor – a member of his own party. The people of Flint and the people of Michigan deserve better.”
