Progress Michigan Welcomes Danielle Emerson as Communications Specialist
LANSING — Progress Michigan is pleased to announce today the addition of Danielle Emerson as Communications Specialist for the organization.
“Danielle’s wealth of knowledge about Lansing politics, established record of holding elected officials accountable and tenacity for getting the truth make her a great fit for the organization. We are pleased to have her on our team,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director for Progress Michigan. “Whether it’s championing the stories of the people of Flint or asking the tough questions of lawmakers, we know Danielle will hit the ground running to advance the progressive cause.”
In her role as communications specialist, Danielle will provide additional communications support for Progress Michigan and its partners.
“I am honored to join an organization like Progress Michigan that leads the way in promoting the causes of the hard working people of Michigan and increase true government transparency and accountability,” Emerson said. “I look forward to fighting for a better Michigan with Progress Michigan.”
Prior to Progress Michigan, Emerson spent five years at Gongwer News Service covering the state senate, Flint water crisis and Michigan’s new energy law. Her policy interests include social and economic justice, education and environmental awareness, among others.
She has a degree in journalism and political science from Michigan State University.
