Progress Michigan Names New Media Specialist
Marissa Luna joins progressive communications team
LANSING – On Monday, Marissa Luna joined Progress Michigan as a New Media Specialist. Before joining the Progress Michigan team, Marissa served as the Communications Coordinator at Clean Water Action, Michigan’s largest environmental non-profit organization.
“We’re thrilled to welcome a motivated individual like Marissa who will be a great addition to the Progress Michigan staff,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “Marissa’s strong online, social media, and written communications skills will help further the organization’s commitment to building the progressive community in Michigan.”
At Clean Water Action, Marissa worked to educate Michiganders about environmental issues affecting the state’s Great Lakes and environment like climate change, renewable energy, coal ash and fracking.
“I’m very happy to be joining the creative team at Progress Michigan,” Luna said. “I’m honored to be part of an organization that works tirelessly every day to hold our politicians accountable and advance progressive ideals in our state.”
Marissa is a graduate of Michigan State University. Prior to working at Clean Water Action she worked at MSU Greenline doing alumni fundraising and development for the university.
