LANSING – Today Gov. Rick Snyder announced the opening of the “Michigan China Center” in Shanghai to promote “trade, tourism and cultural exchanges” between Michigan and China.
“Instead of bringing jobs to Michigan, Governor Snyder is sending Michigan jobs to China,” said Zack Pohl, Executive Director of Progress Michigan. “Unemployment in Michigan has gone up four months in a row under Snyder’s $1.8 billion tax giveaway to big corporations that ship jobs overseas. Now he’s wasting taxpayer dollars to help corporate CEOs outsource even more jobs. It’s time for Snyder to get his priorities straight and focus on creating jobs in Michigan, not China.”
