New Poll: Michiganders Stand for Reproductive Freedom
MICHIGAN — Recent polling conducted by Progress Michigan in partnership with Public Policy Polling shows that over six out of ten Michiganders believe it is important to protect abortion rights in this year’s election. In 2022, Michiganders made it clear at the ballot box that people’s right to access reproductive healthcare, including abortion, is non-negotiable.
“Michiganders continue to make clear that protecting reproductive freedom matters to them,” said Paula Thornton Greear, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Michigan. “Four years after voters approved Proposal 3 and enshrined reproductive freedom in our state constitution, the majority say that protecting abortion rights is important to them as they head into the November election. These results reinforce what we’ve long known: Michiganders believe they should have the freedom to make their own decisions about their bodies, their families, and their futures.”
“Reproductive healthcare is just that: healthcare,” said Justin Mendoza, MPH, executive director of Progress Michigan. “Michiganders want decisions on their healthcare to be made by their families and their medical providers, not lawmakers with political agendas.”
When it comes to the upcoming election in November, how important is it to you that abortion rights are protected in Michigan: very important, somewhat important, or not important at all?
