Where is John James?
Congressman appears to be vacationing in Turks and Caicos while pretending to be in Michigan
MICHIGAN – U.S. Congressman John James (MI-10) is apparently posting old photos on his social media pages to make it look like he’s in Michigan when he’s actually enjoying a tropical island vacation.
After TMZ reported that Rep. James is vacationing in the Turks and Caicos, the congressman now has been caught sharing old photos and videos of himself at a gun range. Today, in what looks like an attempt to pretend he’s at Comerica Park for the Detroit Tigers’ opening day, James posted a photo of himself with his family at Comerica Park that was originally posted in October. And now, a spokesperson for James only had to say this in response to these inconsistencies: “John wasn’t at the resurrection either but we’re still posting about it.”
In response to this news, Justin Mendoza, executive director of Progress Michigan, issued the following statement:
“We should expect honesty from our elected officials, but that’s hard to come by in today’s Republican Party. John James has lied about his vote to kick Michiganders off their health coverage, and now appears to be deceiving us about where he is. This really isn’t a total surprise, given that he’s leading Michigan’s federal lawmakers in the number of votes he’s missed in Congress. James is clearly not showing up for work, and his constituents deserve better.
“John, we know that getting involved in ethics scandals and getting booed by your own party is really tiring, so maybe you deserve some time in the Turks and Caicos while you figure things out. Meanwhile, constituents in the 10th District have a chance to gain more reliable representation with whomever they elect in 2026.”
