It seems that Rich Baird, Governor Snyder’s right-hand man, has an issue with legitimate criticism. Since the media reported that Rich Baird failed to pay his proper taxes and was registered to vote in two states, he has fired off emails, faxes and phone calls threatening certain people that called him out.
One of the people that called Baird out was Karla Swift of the Michigan AFL-CIO. Rich Baird has since sent her a fax asking for a retraction. It seems that when the facts don’t agree with Rich Baird, he gets disagreeable.
Let’s look at a few facts shall we:
Fact 1: Rich Baird did benefit from an improper tax break. He admitted this himself when he paid $16,700 in owed taxes.
Fact 2: Rich Baird was registered to vote in two states at the same time.
Fact 3: Baird was a senior corporate executive at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, one of the world’s largest accounting firms, but he couldn’t be bothered to correctly manage his own taxes.
Fact 4: Rich Baird got caught doing something wrong.
Fact 5: Rich Baird was called out by numerous organizations when his tax problems came to light.
Fact 6: Baird has only threatened women that called him out.
There’s really only one way to get to the bottom of Rich Baird’s tax problems. That’s why we sent a FOIA request to Bath Township requesting copies of all documents related to the sale of the property to Rich Baird and any communications between Baird and Bath Township officials. We’ll keep you posted and report the facts as we find them.
What a jerk this guy Baird is – but typical 1% type personality. He did something wrong and probably criminal and instead of owning up and accepting responsibility he starts lashing out and pointing fingers. Why isn’t he being prosecuted for cheating on his taxes and for voter fraud. We keep hearing about massive voter fraud from these tea-party types and I think instead of going after minorities and others they should be directing their vitriol at themselves. Republicans used to talk about responsibility but those days are long gone. And of course he only goes after women. That too is in keeping with how republicans deal with their problems.
