LANSING – Today, Progress Michigan announced that Hugh Madden has been selected as the organization’s new Communications Director, taking over for Jessica Tramontana, who left for a new position at the Martin Waymire public relations firm. “We are ecstatic to have Hugh as a part of the Progress Michigan team,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director for Progress Michigan. “Hugh brings a breadth of experience and energy that will help Progress Michigan as we hold lawmakers accountable and make Michigan a more progressive state.”
At SEIU Healthcare Michigan, Madden worked with coalition partners on a wide variety of health care related issues as well as taking a leading role in member communications, new media outreach and the Local’s overall political program.
“I couldn’t be more excited about joining the hardworking team at Progress Michigan as they fight for a more progressive future for Michigan,” Madden said. “Progress Michigan is at the forefront of the progressive movement and has always been a leader in holding politicians accountable. I am honored to be joining such an incredible organization.”
