New Poll: Screwing Over Public Schools Could Spell Electoral Disaster for GOP
Majority of voters would be less likely to support candidates who voted to cut school funding
MICHIGAN – On Tuesday, Progress Michigan released further results from the latest Lake Effect poll, this time highlighting a question that asked voters how knowing that their lawmakers voted to cut education funding would affect whether they would reelect them in the future or not.
“No matter how hard MAGA Matt Hall tries to manipulate the public and point fingers at everyone except himself, his budget would devastate public schools across the state,” said Denzel McCampbell, managing director of Progress Michigan. “Fully funding public education is critical to ensuring our kids have the opportunity to thrive, and Michigan voters know it. These results confirm what we already knew: Try to fuck with public education, and the people of this state will make you pay at the ballot box.”
