Representative Ken Borton: Stop Trying to DOGE Michigan
MICHIGAN – Today, Progress Michigan released the following statement after Representative Ken Borton threatened to defund the Michigan Department of Natural Resources “into oblivion”. The statement can be attributed to Sam Inglot, executive director for Progress Michigan:
“Once again, dangerous Republicans like Ken Borton are more interested in burning things down than building a better Michigan. His reckless rejection of a bipartisan Senate DNR budget shows that he, Matt Hall, and House Republicans would rather put on a show for Donald Trump than protect our wildlife and natural resources from invasive species and keep our state parks clean and accessible. It’s clear that this is a blatant attempt to follow Trump’s blueprint to DOGE Michigan rather than do what’s right for Michiganders everywhere.”
“Borton’s threats to ‘defund the DNR into oblivion’; aren’t about helping Michigan families, our state, or working people, they’re about making noise and breaking the government, even if it means gutting conservation efforts, hurting our natural resources, and closing state parks. That’s not leadership and it sure isn’t responsible.”
