GUILTY: Verdict In Hush Money Trial Goes Against Donald Trump
Jury sends powerful message about transparency and accountability
MICHIGAN – On Thursday, a jury of everyday Americans found former President Trump guilty of covering up hush money payments in an effort to obscure the truth about his affair with an adult film star from voters on the eve of the 2020 election. The following response can be attributed to Sam Inglot, executive director of Progress Michigan:
“Throughout his brief political career, Donald Trump has repeatedly shown himself to be a crooked, untrustworthy person who will always prioritize his own ambitions and personal enrichment over doing what is right. Voters deserve to know that our elected officials will be honest with us, and Trump’s decision to interfere with our elections by falsifying business records and lying to the public to protect his campaign for the White House showed a blatant disregard for the law and disrespect for our democracy. Now, thanks to a jury of ordinary Americans, he is finally facing accountability for these crimes, and that is worth celebrating.”
