New Poll: Michigan Voters Back Right to Repair

Newsletter shows overwhelming support to stop corporations from gouging independent farmers

MICHIGAN – On Tuesday, Progress Michigan released the latest edition of Lake Effect, a monthly research newsletter that tracks public opinion about a variety of issues and public figures. This month’s poll results show that an overwhelming majority of Michiganders—82 percent—support Right to Repair legislation. The following statement can be attributed to Denzel McCampbell, managing director of Progress Michigan:

“Right to Repair legislation is a slam dunk. Not only is it good policy, it’s also extremely popular with voters. Michigan’s independent farmers and ranchers are facing excessive costs and burdens because wealthy corporations have once again decided to put profits over people by holding the diagnostics, tools, and parts farmers need for their own equipment hostage.

“We are disappointed that we have yet to see legislative action on House Bill 4673 since a June House Agriculture Committee hearing. We all depend on farmers, and our farmers are depending on us to help move Right to Repair across this finish line. It’s time our lawmakers stand up to corporate greed and stand up for our farmers.”
