Whitmer Has the Right Priorities for Michigan
SOTS speech is yet another example of strong leadership from the governor
MICHIGAN – The following statement about Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address can be attributed to Lonnie Scott, Executive Director of Progress Michigan:
“It’s not hard to see why a majority of Michiganians approve of Gov. Whitmer’s leadership. While the Michigan GOP focuses on political games and partisan power grabs, Gov. Whitmer is doing everything she can to support working families and guide our state through this pandemic. From expanding the social safety net to improving infrastructure across the state to supporting public education, Gov. Whitmer has the right ideas to create a brighter future for people across Michigan. Her leadership throughout the pandemic has helped curb the spread of COVID and save lives—and that’s not to mention her efforts to ensure working people and small businesses have the support they need to make ends meet. With Gov. Whitmer at the helm, we’re hopeful that 2021 will see significant progress on the issues facing our state.”
