Flint Charges are a Step Toward Healing

Still a long way to go to repair the damage done to Flint residents

MICHIGAN – This week, AG Dana Nessel announced that former Gov. Rick Snyder and other members of his administration will face criminal charges for their role in the Flint water crisis. The following statement can be attributed to Lonnie Scott, Executive Director of Progress Michigan:

“The people of Flint have already waited far too long for justice, but these charges are a step toward real accountability. Flint is still broken and these charges today won’t fix the pipes, repair the houses or improve the health of those effected by the crisis. But it finally proves that even now, years after the national media left town, someone still gives a damn. I stand with the people of Flint today and every day and hope sometime in the near future they get the justice they deserve.”
