Schuette Wants More Money for Job He’s Failed to Do
Millions of public funds going to private firm in investigation despite no results from AG
MICHIGAN — Attorney General Bill Schuette wants to add even more public money to his $7.8 million investigation into the Flint Water Crisis, which has yet to result in any convictions, according to the Detroit Free Press.
“It’s not shocking that Bill Schuette wants more public dollars for his failed investigation. Despite millions spent already, not one person has been convicted and Governor Snyder has not been charged. The people deserve answers from Bill Schuette before forking over more money without any accountability,” questioned Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “The fact of the matter is Bill Schuette is a terrible lawyer who is using the Flint Water Crisis as a publicity stunt for his gubernatorial bid. He says he wants to be the ‘paychecks’ governor, but the private law firms he’s working with seem to be the only ones getting paid. Schuette must think the people of Michigan are mushrooms, because he keeps feeding us bullshit and is keeping the public in the dark about what’s really going on with this investigation.”
