Progress Michigan Asks Michigan Republicans to Choose Trump or America
Donald Trump Jr.’s emails show collusion between Trump campaign and Russian government
LANSING — Progress Michigan is challenging Michigan Republicans to speak out against the potentially illegal acts committed by Donald Trump Jr. on behalf of President Trump’s campaign.
“It’s clear from the release of his emails that President Trump’s son met with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer in an effort to help Trump campaign last year,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “We are asking Michigan Republicans to tell us which side they are on. Do they believe in a government of, for and by the people or are they willing to sell out America for partisan gain?”
Progress Michigan is challenging all Republican elected officials to immediately make it clear to their constituents where they stand.
“For generations, Republicans have sold their soul to corporate special interests but selling out our nation to Russian operatives is a new low. The people deserve to know where Michigan Republicans stand – with Trump or America. Republicans can no longer hide from their standard bearer and can either take a stand against Trump as patriots or stand beside him as patsies,” Scott continued. “Trump and his son have repeatedly claimed there was no collusion #ButHisEmails seem to prove otherwise and the time for action is now.”
