Full and Part-Time




Mothering Justice is seeking door-to-door canvassers to identify supporters for issues that affect mothers and working families. Mothering Justice is hiring full–time activists to educate voters, collect data and rally support for our issues – most importantly our efforts to ensure every working person in Michigan has Earned Paid Sick Time for when they are sick or need to take care of a loved one.

We are looking for dedicated team players to work primarily Monday-Friday from 3pm-8pm.   This will require walking and talking to people at their front door to engage and activate them on issues that may impact them or their families.  We want people who are committed to progressive causes.

We also are looking for people who are looking for entry-level opportunities for progressive issue advocacy and organizing.


Strong communication and motivational skills, work ethic, and ability to adapt to changing environments.  Candidates must be able to work within a team, focus on deliverables, hit goals and walk for long periods of time.  Strong self-direction and the ability to take initiative are also necessary qualifications.  Previous field, organizing or canvassing experience is a plus, and may qualify candidates for additional leadership positions.


Newly hired canvassers will spend 1 day doing inhouse training and working intensely alongside an experienced canvasser.  Additionally, canvassers will receive additional trainings, briefings and support from the canvass manager and staff throughout their time with Mothering Justice.


Reliable transportation and punctuality is a must; as is full participation during canvass trainings and work hours.
