Progress Michigan: Attorney General Schuette Must Condemn Post Election Violence
Latest incident in Grand Rapids amplifies need for leadership
LANSING — In light of the most recent example of post-election violence, Progress Michigan is calling on Michigan Attorney General and long-time Trump supporter to condemn acts of violence and political intimidation. On November 12th a cab driver was beaten by a man who repeatedly yelled the name of the President-elect. This comes on the heels of numerous other incidents in the state and across the country.
“As the state’s top law enforcement officer and Michigan’s most prominent Trump supporter, Attorney General Bill Schuette has an obligation to speak out against political intimidation and condemn acts that are done in the name of Trump,” said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan. “While the election is over, the hatred and violence has continued. As Michigan’s top law enforcement officer Bill Schuette should be doing all he can to calm the citizens of Michigan and ensure that those responsible for these acts of violence and intimidation are brought to justice.”
