Progress Michigan on President Obama’s State of the Union Address

MICHIGAN — The following statement can be attributed to Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan in response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address:

“Tonight’s contrast between the State of the State and the State of the Union was the difference between vague metaphors and clearly defined plans. While Governor Snyder offered empty rhetoric that didn’t match his true priority of pushing a pro-corporate agenda that hurts Michigan families, President Obama outlined a path to prosperity. He put forth real plans to ensure women receive equal pay for equal work and families have access to paid sick leave, improve our nation’s tax system, ensuring that everyone pays their fair share, and increase educational opportunities for all.”
