Progress Michigan executive director speaks out about Legislature Failing to Give Healthcare Bill Immediate Effect
“Shame on the legislature for failing to give Medicaid expansion immediate effect, and wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars,” said Lonnie Scott, Executive Director of Progress Michigan. “The legislature’s short-sighted decision is costing Michigan residents dearly – to the tune of $7 million a day of federal funding – while leaving hundreds of thousands of poor Michiganders uninsured. It’s time for lawmakers to stop playing political games and get to work representing Michigan’s low-income families.”
