“Our thoughts and prayers are with the children, families, teachers and administrators following the tragic school shooting in Connecticut,” said Jessica Tramontana, Communications Director of Progress Michigan. “After midnight on Thursday, the House passed SB 59, legislation that allows guns in schools, churches and daycares in our state. It’s time to rethink that decision, and have a long overdue and honest dialogue about gun control in Michigan. We are urging Governor Snyder to veto this legislation.”
