Today I say goodbye as Executive Director of Progress Michigan, and after three years here I know exactly what I want to leave behind: a commitment from me and you to keep making progress in Michigan. There’s really nothing like Progress Michigan – no other progressive advocacy group that day in and day out gives voice to our issues and fights back against corporate-owned right wing politicians in Michigan.
So as I leave Progress Michigan today – my last day on the job – I am signing on as a monthly online donor. You should too. It’s easy and the timing has never been better. That’s because a generous donor has now pledged to match every dollar we give up to $2,500! That means, for example, your $10 monthly gift will provide $20 in financial support each month for Progress Michigan. Will you join me in supporting Progress Michigan with a contribution of $5.00 today?
One of the ways this will impact our work is to make the 2012 online Progressive Voter Guide happen. This will be a one-stop shop for progressive voters who care about environmental, labor, education, LGBT, women’s rights and social justice issues. Our goal is to get the Progressive Voter Guide in the hands of every progressive voter in Michigan with an internet connection. Click through to help us power progress together in 2012.
How many times have you wondered whom to vote for when it comes to important but less visible elections for the state Legislature, Supreme Court and ballot issues? The 2012 Progressive Voter Guide will be a powerful tool to reach voters who want to know which candidates they can count on to support protecting our Great Lakes, women’s choice, clean energy, collective bargaining and equality of opportunity.
While I am departing Progress Michigan as Executive Director to make a difference in other ways and on a schedule planned long ago, I am not leaving Progress Michigan behind. Join me in making a monthly gift – in whatever amount you can afford – to make sure that our progressive voices are heard and that we make a difference in 2012.
