This afternoon, Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop presented his prescription for “reforming” Michigan. But what Bishop and his “Say NO!” Senate compatriots are really offering is more of the same: cuts, cuts and more cuts.

Michigan’s citizens are clamoring for real reform to provide funding for our priorities: education, health care, and public safety. But Bishop again offered what is reform in name only: cutting pay to middle-class workers, slashing Medicaid for families already struggling to make ends meet and increasing the costs of health care for public employees.

While Bishop’s plan leaves his own taxpayer-funded, gold-plated lifetime health care plan intact, other lawmakers like Senator Gretchen Whitmer and some first-term House members are offering up: an end to lifetime benefits for lawmakers, starting now.

Tell Bishop to get with the program and lead by example by cutting his own Cadillac health care first!
