My Story: The Michigan Education Association (MEA) is a self-governing education association, representing more than 160,000 teachers, faculty and education support staff throughout the state. Through collective action, MEA is dedicated to the purpose of serving our members’ employment goals, interests and needs, while advocating for quality public education. By so doing, MEA is committed to creating and maintaining an effective education system that: Supports the development of successful, empowered students; advances the principles of democracy, human and civil rights; meets the needs of our global society; and improves the quality of life for all.
